Objective: To promote a healthy, active, and fitness-oriented lifestyle among students, faculty, and staff through a week-long series of engaging physical, educational, and cultural activities.
Fit India Week 2024 at IIS (Deemed to be University) was celebrated with enthusiasm from December 16 to December 23, organized by the University Sports Board. The event aimed to encourage physical fitness, mental well-being, and community engagement.
- Day 1: The week started with an inaugural ceremony graced by Mrs. Mona Agarwal, Paralympics 2024 bronze medallist in shooting.
- Day 2: A Cycling Rally was held at Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium, followed by a Poster Making Competition on "Importance of Fitness" and a Kho-Kho Competition.
- Day 3: Featured Yoga, a Nukkad Natak spreading fitness awareness, Handball, and a fun Rumal Jhapatta game.
- Day 4: Included a CPR demonstration by Dr. Roopam Sharma, a Sports Inquiry session by Dr. Rohan, and a Fitness Quiz.
- Day 5: Students participated in Dodgeball, Skipping, the cheerful Toffee Game, and a Relay Race.
- Day 6: Focused on Yoga and Meditation sessions for wellness, and a visit to SMS Stadium to observe sports activities.
- Day 7: Concluded with a Self-Defence session, Prize Distribution, and Valediction Ceremony. Chief Guest Shri Ratnesh Kashyap, Chairman of the Sports Board, appreciated the university’s efforts in promoting fitness.
Outcome: Fit India Week 2024 successfully promoted a healthy and active lifestyle among students, faculty, and staff through a diverse range of fitness, educational, and cultural activities. The event fostered teamwork, awareness, and enthusiasm for physical well-being across the entire university community.
